Saturday 14th February
What more romantic way is there to celebrate St Valentine’s Day than an evening of hot jazz, rug-cutting, cocktail-sipping and general 1920s glamour? (Well, ask the members of Chicago’s North Side Gang who went down in a hail of bullets from Al Capone’s men in the famous St Valentine’s Day Massacre in 1929 and you might get a different answer, but we’ll gloss over that…)
At our party there will be live jazz to get your feet moving on the dance floor.
There will be sizzling burlesque performances.
Hosting, of course, will be the Lord of Cabaret misrule, Champagne Charlie, with a slap, a tickle and a saucy song. When the band aren’t playing DJs the Bee’s Knees will be spinning vintage vinyl into the night.
Want to know if he/she is The One? Our fortune teller Lucius will be on hand to advise, and there will also be a pop-up vintage jewellery store (in case you need a ring in a hurry).
Champagne Charlie
All guests require an entry ticket, covering entry and entertainment, but in addition you can choose to have the three-course dinner, which includes table seating reserved for you all night. Alternatively you can reserve a table without the dinner, but including Champagne on arrival, for a flat fee per table (£80 for a small table, seating up to five, including a bottle of Champagne, or £160 for a large table, seating up to 10, including two bottles of Champagne).
Note that our party is not just for spooning couples—as at all our events, we welcome groups of friends, swing dance fans, vintage dandies, lone wolves and conga-dancing party people.
